Penson-Juico draws on personal access and interviews to portray Aquino the woman alongside Aquino the political symbol, examining the Catholic faith, humility, and quiet determination that defined her leadership style. She was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1998 and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from the United States in 1996.
