Fearless is the first novel in a new US-set series by British crime writer M. W. Craven (born 1968 in Carlisle, England), best known previously for the award-winning Washington Poe series set in the English Lake District. The book was published in June 2023 by Flatiron Books in the United States and Little Brown in the United Kingdom.

The hero is Ben Koenig, former head of the US Marshals Service Special Operations Group, the elite unit that hunts the country's most dangerous fugitives. Koenig has himself been on the run for six years when his face appears on every television screen in America and his cover is blown. The trail leads him to a small town in the burning heat of the Chihuahuan Desert, where some people are willing to kill to keep a particular secret. Koenig has a secret of his own: a rare medical condition called Urbach-Wiethe disease that makes him incapable of feeling fear.

The novel marks Craven's pivot from the procedural English crime fiction of the Poe series toward American hardboiled action in the vein of Lee Child's Jack Reacher. The book was optioned shortly after publication for a major television series. Suitable for English-language readers of action thrillers and lead-protagonist crime series.
